Harry Potter & The Cursed Child

March 9, 2017

I bought the tickets back in October 2015 when 2017 seemed like lightyears away but the date finally arrived and me and my sister booked a night in London to go and watch the show.

I read the script when that came out so I already knew what the story was about and what happened but reading the script from a book is nothing, NOTHING, compared to watching it on stage. I’m pretty sure actual magic happened in that theatre. I was amazed at what I was seeing.

I’m not going to share any spoilers here (#KeepTheSecrets) but if you haven’t read the script or seen the show then oh my goodness you are in for a shock. It’s a true trip down memory lane and I found myself smiling even when certain characters’ names were mentioned. I almost wanted to stop the play and ask how they were doing! It’s such a testament to the world that JK Rowling has created that fans are so invested in to even the most minor of characters. So what if I want to know what became of Mr Tibbles?

It was a very different experience seeing Harry Potter in the theatre and a bit weird seeing different actors play Harry, Ron, Hermione. I think that’s because I’ve seen the films so many times that I actually see Daniel Radcliffe as Harry when I read the books and the same with all the other characters.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see the play again as I’m sure you see more each time you watch it. I’d imagine that this is the last time we’ll get to catch up with Harry so it would be good to be able to watch the show again if it tours or I manage to get a ticket for London again.

Do you share my love for Potter? Have a read of my previous post on him here.

Think I must be the only person in London who hasn’t seen this yet… I walk past the theatre about twice a week and haven’t even attempted to get tickets yet :S x
