Anyone who knows me, knows how I love to be organised. I really enjoying researching places before you visit them, writing lists and planning what to do. This meant that I bought travel books before I went away to pick up any advice I could. There’s a massive choice of literature out there for backpackers and it’s not easy to decide what to choose so I thought I’d give a little review of the books I have.
Today I’ve decided to talk about a book that I actually won as part of a giveaway that the lovely Heelsinmybackpack did earlier this year. The World Awaits by Kate Pocrass is a travel organizer with some ideas of places to visit both home and abroad.
It’s really good for travel inspiration and encourages you to visit places off the beaten track rather than the traditional backpacker route.
The book has lots of rooms to write your ideas, create lists and plan your trip. There’s also plenty of handy pockets to store any magazine cuttings, leaflets etc that you might find useful.
What I like about ‘The World Awaits’ is how colourful it is. The pictures are all drawn rather than photographs. This means that when you finally visit the destinations you haven’t seen a perfectly photo-shopped image which you end up comparing to the real thing.
You buy this organizer from Amazon for less than £13 so it’s not going to break the bank either – something every backpacker likes to hear!
